My Mission

Empowering people to understand and connect with science by transforming complex information into clear, compelling stories that inspire action, foster empathy, and drive innovation at the intersection of science, communication, and human experience.

My Story

Ever since I was a child, I was captivated by the sky and the wild weather it contained. My fascination with weather quickly grew from a hobby into a career path. But for me, understanding the science was only half the adventure; I wanted to share it, to help others see what I saw and feel what I felt.

I began my journey in broadcast meteorology, delivering forecasts to communities and learning how to translate complex data into something everyone could understand. This experience taught me the power of clear communication—how the right words, visuals, and stories could turn scientific jargon into life-saving information.

This passion for informing people grew into a curiosity about the very people I was trying to inform. I pursued advanced degrees in meteorology and communication, earning a Ph.D. focused on how people interact with weather information on digital platforms like weather apps and social media. My research gave me insights into user research and how content types affected engagement on social platforms. My research revealed not just what people needed to know, but how they felt, thought, and made decisions in the face of uncertainty. I became passionate about bridging the gap between science and society—using research, empathy, and creativity to make a real impact.

I then embarked on a career with NOAA where I blended user research with storytelling, leading projects that improved decision-support tools for forecasters and produced content that brought science to life for a wider audience. Whether managing video campaigns, analyzing social media engagement, or mentoring the next generation of communicators, I always aimed to inspire, inform, and connect.
